None of my business what people think of me...

The girls and I are hoping for a snow day tomorrow 🙌🏼🤞
At 8PM I said, “let’s go to target and get new sleds and do late night sledding!”
So Lily said “I’ll go to the store with you but only if you wear this hat with me”. So cute and nerdy 🤓 
When we walked into the store she said “people are looking at you! Do you care what people think?”  
🤔Ahhhh a struggle I used to battle daily.  How about you? Ever not do things because you’re too concerned with what others may think?
I said “No Lily, I have learned that what people think of me is none of my business. I know that I lead with my heart and do the best I can in any given moment and not everyone is going to like me. I also know I’ll make mistakes. That said, what I think of them matters and will determine my quality of life.” 
BLINK BLINK
With big eyes she said “what does that mean?”
“Well Lily, if I have judgemental thoughts towards others, that darkness will only
impact my happiness, my joy and take my peace. So I’ll choose to see them as a part of me and to extend love.”
Her response was deep. 
“I dig, yup I dig. Makes sense Mom.”
